The question of how “can I develop teacher presence?” has been on mind throughout the past few months however, I had something major happen in my life during my second practicum so a lot of stuff was put on the back burner as I move through my grieving process. This inquiry was part of that stuff unfortunately. It was always there but less so as I had less energy to devote to my inquiry. The process moved forward passively.
As I develop my professional identity, a sense of teacher presence has followed. Becoming comfortable with the classes I have had the opportunity to work with is a huge piece of it too. I feel like the teacher presence I develop depends on the students I am around and the relationship that we build together. It is not something that I can do alone!
I will continue to work towards the next steps of this inquiry as I move towards my future as an educator.
[ID Begin: Two photos featuring an apple tree blooming with white flowers. The first picture is of Missy, a brindle Akita who is sat sideways about 4 feet away from the tree trunk. The is looking at something off to the right of the frame. The second picture is a close-up of Molly standing within the branches. There are white blossoms and green leaves along the edges of the picture. ID End.]
