Frog Wednesday

My dear friend, Sydney, bought me a crocheted frog hat/headband for me during the fall of 2022. I received it over one weekend and was so ready to show it off. I forgot about it on the first Monday and on Tuesdays we had our observational practicum component that had us going into different schools to observe classes. I wasn’t sure what the dress codes were for each school so I made sure to not wear a hat on those days. The frog hat that I was gifted was just sitting there, waiting to be worn. I was so excited to wear it that I put it on the day following observations. Unintentionally, I did this two weeks in a row. Wearing my frog hat to school the Wednesday following our observational Tuesdays. I commented on this when I realized and people enjoyed it, they said that I should keep it up. Having loved spirit days throughout my K-12 schooling, I happily obliged, and that is how Frog Wednesday was created.

[ID Begin: Two extremely close-up selfies of Molly wearing their brand new frog hat for the first time. The first picture is of their forehead, which is covered with brown, curly bangs, and two crocheted eyes are seen poking out above their head. The second picture is of their entire face. They are smiling with a wild look in their eyes. The crocheted eyes are once again seen on top of their head with with a green crocheted headband tied under their chin and surrounded their face. ID End.]

Now on Wednesdays I intentionally wear something frog related. Frog Wednesday consists of wearing froggy pins, hats, earrings, and whatever else I can get my hands on. It has become a staple of expression and allows others to know that they are safe to show their passions openly around me. I have also been told that it is a source of joy from a couple people in my life.

[ID Begin: Two pictures of Molly at the Chilliwack Tulip Festival on a Wednesday. They are wearing the same crocheted frog hat as before. The first picture is of Molly leaning in on the single red tulip within a long row of purple hyacinths. They are looking at the camera and smiling. The second picture is of Molly sitting on a sturdy wooden swing in front of rows of pink tulips. The ground right behind the swing is very wet and muddy. ID End.]

I hope I can continue to express my joy and bring joy to others through many avenues. One avenue, for the foreseeable future, will be Frog Wednesday.
